For the 4th year running, Armin van Buuren is the number 1 DJ, and thus prolongs his title as ‘Most popular DJ in the world’! As the first DJ in the history of the DJ Mag, the Dutch DJ is now the number 1 DJ for 4 years in a row.

Armin has had a great year so far, not only releasing his A State of Trance 2010 compilation, but also reaching the milestone of his fourth artist album, ‘Mirage’. This pure dance album can be called truly welcome. After months of creative effort and hard work, DJ number one in the world released his fourth album. Armin van Buuren proudly presents «Mirage». According to the artist, “«Mirage» became the biggest projects that I have ever worked. Many hours I spent on its creation. Work began two years ago, when I actually built a brand new studio specifically for this project. We used a lot of new techniques, and most of them, I am pleased created with a lot of people involved in the process. This was a journey, with a grand! ”

«76», «Shivers» and «Imagine» still imprinted in the memory of millions of fans of dance music. Fresh impressions appear as soon as the album gets to the shops on September 10, 2010. «Mirage» fans will Armin’a other side of the actor, with whom they have not had to meet, and surprise listeners with new unexpected collaboration. Over 2 years of endless jamming and producing, Armin invited to his studio by artists like Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Ferry Corsten, BT, Nadia Ali, Guy Chambers, Christian Burns and Adam Young of Owl City.

The first single from the new album, Armin chose «Full Focus», an instrumental track, created to fill the club grounds, light space festivals in summer 2010. Armin recognized:

“The first track from the album is a sure shot in my sets at the moment. I decided to return to the instrumental trance right before the summer time and all the big festivals. Half of my new album will consist of instrumental trance, only to have the sound of 2010 “.

And immediately after the summer season it is time for the entry into their possession album «Mirage». Inspired and impressed by the various styles of music, «Mirage» more diverse than any of the previous albums Armin’a. His collaboration with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, «Not Giving Up On Love» - the best confirmation of this compilation is the best and the two musical worlds. «The Nervo Sisters, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and I met to record the vocal tracks for the« Not Giving Up On Love ». I was thrilled that work with them. We have done more analog sound, recorded live drums, added pop-rock sensations. Also, we brought the piano to the fore, followed by vocals Sophie, who seems to me winning. The result was a juicy summer track with great vocals that dwell in your head and will raise the spirits “- says Armin.

«Mirage» filled with music synthesis and the unexpected interpretations of orchestral masterpiece title track «Mirage», deep-trance track «I Don’t Own You» and housy «Feels So Good» to sinister «Take A Moment» and cheerful «Drowning . In general, all 16 tracks reflect the formation Armin’a as an artist.

Armin van Buuren’s weekly radio show “A State of Trance” has been going strong for almost a decade now, with over 10 million listeners every week, broadcasting on more than 40 radio stations worldwide in 26 countries, the show has remarkably grown out to be the most popular radio show in today’s dance scene. In 2009 “A State of Trance” celebrated her 400th broadcast with an unforgettable series of events. Armin took a whole crew and a selection of Artists on tour, travelling to three countries in three days, broadcasting for 72 hours in a row, including three live video/radio streams on location. At the end of the transmission, the only question left was… How to top this next year with “A State of Trance” 450? One year later, we have the answer to this question!

With less than 4 months left till the 450th episode of “A State of Trance”, we are proud to announce that ‘ASOT 450’ will be a fantastic event again. Besides following Armin and his special guests travelling two Continents, visiting 4 countries for 5 club nights, the listeners will have the chance again to tune in to live audio and video streams, to make sure that no one will miss out this celebration of music.

Episode 450 of “A State of Trance” will kick off on Thursday, April 1st in Toronto, Canada in the iconic Club The Guvernment. From there we continue our journey through Northern America by presenting two night shows on 2nd and 3rd of April, in New York City’s favorite music venue, Roseland Ballroom.

If you think that will settle as celebration, you are wrong! After the events in Toronto and New York it is time to continue the birthday of “A State of Trance” in Europe. The 4th broadcast will air live from Queen of the cities, Bratislava on Friday April 9th followed by the official closing of “A State of Trance 450” on Saturday April 10th in one of Poland’s graceful venues, the Centennial Hall in Wroclaw.

Armin van Buuren: “Everything I do as an artist, DJ, producer and label manager comes together in my weekly radio show “A State of Trance”. He concludes, “I owe the success of the radio show to my fans, and I want to thank them for that, therefore, within the nine years history of show, the annual celebration of completed episodes has become a tradition”.

This year, we decided to really expand the international characteristic of “A State of Trance”. The successful Introduction of 3 events in 3 countries, and the live video streaming of previous year gets topped by 5 incredible shows from 4 different countries in 2010, crossing the ocean for the very first time.
